The RCMP’s Internet Child Exploitation Unit arrested and charged a 33-year-old Moncton man on May 8, 2014.

The man, who cannot be named because of a court issued publication ban in order to protect the identity of the victim, appeared on Moncton Provincial Court on May 8 and was charged with possessing child pornography, making available child pornography, surreptitiously observe a young person in circumstances that give rise to a reasonable expectation of privacy and surreptitiously make a recording of a young person in circumstances that give rise to a reasonable expectation of privacy.

On May 8, 2014, investigators with the Internet Child Exploitation Unit executed a search warrant at a Moncton home at which time they seized computers and data storage equipment containing child sexual abuse images. The investigation was done in partnership with the National Child Exploitation Coordination Centre.

The 33-year-old man has been remanded in custody until his next scheduled court appearance on May 16.
