Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident at 2800 Woodridge about 1:15 p.m. last Friday (May 9).
The male victim, 70, was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital where he was pronounced dead. His identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant G. Lopez and Officer P. Ngo reported:
The victim, in a Ford F-450 pickup truck, drove up to the Wells Fargo bank at the above address to use the ATM machine. The victim opened the door and was partially out of his vehicle conducting his transaction. As he finished the transaction, the pickup truck began to roll backward and the victim fell out of the vehicle. The pickup truck ran over the victim and then struck a white Honda Accord. The victim was taken to the hospital. The driver of the Accord was not injured.
