Charges have been filed against two suspects arrested in the fatal shooting of one man and the wounding of three other persons at 9357 Richmond Avenue about 2:45 a.m. on April 24.

One suspect, Hassan Abdul Worthy (b/m, 26), is charged with murder in the 248th State District Court.  Another suspect, Sofiane Benaffane (A/m, 29), is charged with murder in the same court and remains hospitalized after suffering gunshot wounds.  A third suspect, Amanda Nicole Morales (H/f, 24), is charged with tampering with evidence in the 248th State District Court.  All three are accused in the killing of Dontrell Kelly, 29, of Houston, who died at the scene.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant J. French and Officer D. Fontenot reported:

Mr. Kelly was inside of the Vibe Lounge night club at the above address when he was approached by Benaffane and Worthy, who were armed with guns.  A struggle ensued and, at some point, Kelly managed to disarm Worthy and exchanged gunfire with Benaffane.  Kelly died at the scene.  Benaffane suffered gunshot wounds and is expected to survive.  Suspect Morales also suffered a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.  An additional female was also wounded during the gunfire and is expected to survive.

Last Friday (May 9), members of the Gulf Coast Violent Violent Offenders Task Force, along with members of the HPD Midwest Patrol Division Tactical Team arrested Worthy and Morales without incident.
