Leroy Edward Laboucan arrested for groping a woman in Vancouver

A 25 year old Vancouver man is set to appear in court this morning after being arrested on October 1st and charged with sexual assault.

Shortly after 3:00 p.m. that date, a woman was standing on the corner of Alberni Street and Bute Street when an intoxicated man approached her and sexually assaulted her by groping her breast.

Police were called and an officer who was in the area at the time arrested the man without incident.

Leroy Edward Laboucan, who is known to police, is a 25 year old Vancouver resident. He is charged with one count of sexual assault and is due to appear this morning at 9:00 a.m. in Provincial court.

Police also believe that Laboucan may have been involved in two other unrelated sexual assaults, or attempted sexual assaults (gropings), earlier in the day in the area between Second Beach and Alberni Street and Bute Street.

The victims or people possibly involved in these two incidents have yet to come forward to police.
