Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident at 8100 South Freeway (South State Highway 288 South) about 2:45 p.m. on Monday (May 19).
The female victim, 36, was pronounced dead at the scene. Her identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant A. Vanderbull and Officer C. Washington reported:
The victim was driving a blue Hyundai Sonata northbound on the South Freeway and exited onto the South Loop (South Interstate Highway 610) ramp. The driver lost control of her vehicle, left the roadway and struck a concrete support beam.
No other vehicles were involved in the accident.
