Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in the 9600 block of Fondren about 5 p.m. on Wednesday (June 4).
The female victim, 23, was pronounced dead at the scene. Her identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant F. Briones and Officer S. Coke reported:
The victim was driving a silver Toyota 4Runner, exited a private driveway at a high rate of speed and failed to yield right of way. The Toyota then struck a Mercedes E320 traveling northbound on Fondren. The driver of the Toyota lost control and struck a tree. The victim died at the scene. Two male passengers, 6 and 4, were transported to an area hospital with broken bones. The driver of the Mercedes was not injured.
