Suspect Kenneth Johnson charged with intoxication manslaughter for fatal traffic accident at 3300 Kingwood Drive

Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in a fatal traffic accident at 3300 Kingwood Drive about 9 a.m. on Wednesday (June 11). 

The suspect, Kenneth Johnson (w/m, 22) is charged with intoxication manslaughter in the 248th State District Court.

The female victim, 52, was pronounced dead at the scene. Her identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant A. Francois and Officer C. Iong reported: 

According to witnesses, Mr. Johnson was driving a gray Cadillac ATS at a high rate of speed eastbound on Kingwood Drive while weaving in and out of traffic. The Cadillac then struck the rear of a Chevrolet Monte Carlo. The driver of the Monte Carlo lost control, left the roadway and struck a fixed object. The driver of the Monte Carlo died at the scene. The front seat passenger of the Monte Carlo, an 8-year-old female, was transported to Texas Children’s Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Johnson was detained, determined to be intoxicated, and subsequently charged.
