Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a man at 9555 Crofton about 1:30 p.m. on Monday (June 16).

The suspect, Gerald Amos (b/m, 44), is charged with murder in the 177th State District Court. He is accused in the killing of Anthony Jamison, 28, of Houston.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant T. Pool and Senior Police Officer S. Straughter reported:

Mr. Jamison was sitting in his wheelchair in the courtyard of the Crofton Apartments at the above address when he was approached by an unknown male suspect and shot several times. The suspect, described only as a black male wearing dark pants and a dark T-shirt, fled the scene immediately after the shooting.
Further investigation led to the identity of Amos, an acquaintance of Jamison’s, as the suspect in this case. Amos was arrested late this afternoon (June 19) without incident.
