Arturo Aviles dies in a traffic accident in Houston, Texas

Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident at 8172 River Drive about 8:10 p.m. on Sunday (Oct. 17).

The deceased male, Arturo Aviles, 26, address unknown, was pronounced dead at the scene.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant D. Morgan and Officer T. Carter reported:

Mr. Aviles was driving a red 1998 Chevrolet S-10 pickup truck eastbound in the 8100 block of River Drive at a high rate of speed. Unaware of a curve in the road, Aviles drove into a ditch in front of a residence, struck a concrete driveway and lost control of the pickup. The vehicle then struck a tree, rolled over and landed upside down. Aviles, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was partially ejected from the vehicle and died at the scene.

The investigation is continuing.
