The Vancouver Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in locating a man wanted Canada-wide for breaching the conditions of his release from federal custody for failing to return to a Vancouver halfway house October 21st.
Thirty-seven year old Norman Gilbert Riel is Metis, 5’8” tall, 240 lbs., with a muscular build, short brown hair, brown eyes and earrings in both ears. He has tattoos of a panther on both his right shoulder and left hip.
Riel is on a conditional release for second degree murder in 1998. He also has an extensive record for robbery and break and enter and is known to have ties to Lower Mainland gangs.
Riel is considered to be dangerous, and anyone who has information regarding his whereabouts, or who sees him, is asked to not approach him and to contact 9-1-1 immediately.
Vancouver city police are not interested in the public helping provcomment_IDe information regarding Norman Riel’s whereabouts. I personally called them to speak with an officer incharge of the investigation and got a verbal run-around with a whitless civilian telling me she cannot confirm that there is a warrant I told her I dcomment_IDnt need her to confirm what is all over the internet: a Canada wcomment_IDe warrant issued for… So, Norman please, I am reaching out to you brother, turn yourself in, your true friends are worried about you. I believe you are truly trying to get your life back on track and want to see you succeed.
