A couple of lawsuits filed against serial sex killer and former Canadian Forces colonel, Russell Williams, are announced to have been settled out of court. According to the victim’s lawyers, the settlement was reached between Williams and his first sexual assault victim, known as Jane Doe, and the family of murder victim Jessica Lloyd.

A press statement issued by the victims’ lawyer, Michael Pretsell, mentioned that “we are pleased to announce that the [legal] actions commenced at Belleville on behalf of the victims of Russell Williams, being Roxanne and Andy Lloyd, and Jane Doe, have been resolved to the mutual satisfaction of all parties.” Both parties have agreed to keep the decided compensation confidential. Both the victims had filed multimillion-dollar lawsuits against the disgraced former officer and his wife, Mary Elizabeth Harriman. However, the lawsuit against Harriman was dropped as part of the settlement. According to the repot, Jane Doe had accused Harriman of participating in a suspicious property transfer in order to shield their assets.

Mr. Pretsell stated that “the actions have been settled with Mr. Williams and will be dismissed as against Mary Elizabeth Harriman on a without-costs basis. Out of respect for the privacy for the families no further statement or comment will be made by any of the parties or their counsel.” Back in 2010, Williams pleaded guilty to 88 charges that included two counts of first degree murder in the slayings of Lloyd and Cpl. Marie-France Comeau. Thereafter, he was sentenced to life in prison with no chance of parole for 25 years.
