39,000 People to attend ZEE Bollywood Monster Mashup!
Week-long largest South Asian festival in Canada to end with a monster free concert, showcasing Canadian artists and Bollywood singing star Rajdeep Chatterjee 

  
Over 39,000 people are expected this year at ZEE Bollywood Monster Mashup (BMM), the largest South Asian festival in Canada. After a full week of events starting August 25, BMM will bring the best and the biggest from Canada and Bollywood to Mississauga Celebration Square on August 29-30.  
 
"We have a brilliant line-up of performers again this year," says Vikas Kohli, BMM Artistic Director. "Along with our signature act, the Bollywood Monster Double Take, and our Bollywood headliner Rajdeep Chatterjee, we have outstanding Canadian artists promising mind-blowing entertainment for everyone at this years ZEE Bollywood Monster Mashup!  Join us for amazing food, the free KidZone, free Bollywood dance lessons, and more fun than you can shake a samosa at!"

 

Global Rhythms

Choreographed by Lopa Sarkar, and premiering at BMM, Global Rhythms is a music & dance collaboration that features Bollywood dancing from Divine Heritage Artistry, with breaking and hip-hop dancing from Gadfly and Alias Dance Project to fuse together Eastern and Western cultures.

Wilbur Sargunaraj

With over 7 million views on YouTube, "India's first Youtube star" Wilbur Sargunaraj will be entertaining the BMM audience with a brilliant comedy, song and dance act and his own personal feel-good brand of energy.  A few lucky audience members will be pulled up on stage to join him, so audiences should get their dancing shoes ready!

 

Bosco & Caesar Dance Company
BCDC have choreographed innumerable songs and music videos for Bollywood's A-list actors such as Amitabh Bachchan, Aamir Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, Ranbir Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra, Deepika Padukone, Katrina Kaif, Ranveer Singh and Kareena Kapoor. Their work has been on memorable films such as Mission Kashmir, Partner, Munnabhai M.B.B.S., 3 Idiots, Paa, Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, Gunday ,Queen and Bang Bang.  At BMM, the Bosco Ceaser Dance company will be performing and leading the audience through an interactive performance.
 
Nick Pandya
Based out of Toronto, Nick has performed on stages in Canada, North Carolina, Fort McMurray, California, and Panama. Nick has performed alongside major Bollywood artists such as Chinamayi, Sukhwinder Singh, Hemachandra, Bipasha Basu and Hariharan to name a few. Nick will be performing his band at BMM.

 

Bollywood Monster Double Take

Every year, Kohli creates an original, fusion act for BMM.  Prior original creations that have wowed audiences are the Bollywood Rock Symphony, the Bollywood Monster Choir and the Bollywood Dragon Orchestra.  This year, the never-seen-before Bollywood Monster Double Take will showcase the confluence of South Asian and Western culture that has been going on for years. But the audience will ask: Who influenced who first? And who sang it better?! On August 30, the audience can decide. This special South Asian and Canadian 10-piece orchestra combines Bollywood hits from films such as Ram Balram, Don and Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna with Billboard chart-toppers from the west originally sung by artists such as George Michael, the Black Eyed Peas and Roy Orbison — with a twist!

Rajdeep Chatterjee
Bollywood singing star Rajdeep Chatterjee, who has lent his voice to blockbuster films Gunday, Khiladi 786 and Bodyguard will headline the festival with a live band. Before he takes over the stage for the monster-sized concert, enjoy the expanded free KidZone, free film festival, free Bollywood dance lessons and more!

Fans can walk the red carpet with Rajdeep Chatterjee on August 28 at the VIP & Media Cocktail Reception at C Banquets, Mississauga. Tickets for the reception can be bought here.

Aug 25
The Mississauga Arts Council's 2014 Media Summit kicks off the week-long festival at the Living Arts Centre, Mississauga. With a special sneak preview of the Bollywood Monster Film Festival that will happen on August 30, this free event gives rising media artists a chance to pitch their projects to industry mentors.
Aug 26
The Bollywood Monster Painting Party hosted by Cocktails 'n Canvas at The Host restaurant in Mississauga combines the fun atmosphere of BMM with the creatively social concept of painting parties. The perfect opportunity for a night out, attendees at this "no experience necessary" event will enjoy learning how to create a painting of a gorgeous peacock which they can then take home with them.
 
Aug 27
The Bollywood Monster Comedy Night with Fade to Brown will be at The Crooked Cue in Port Credit. Hosted by Ali Hassan (CBC's George Stroumboulopoulos Tonight, CBC Radio's Laugh Out Loud), the night features "the best and brownest" comics in Toronto.
 
Aug 28
Walk the red carpet with Bollywood headliner Rajdeep Chatterjee, Ali Hassan, Wilbur Sargunaraj and the newly crowned Miss India Canada at this year's VIP & Media Cocktail Reception.  The public is invited to mix and mingle with the stars during this evening filled with glitz and glamour at C Banquets in the Mississauga Civic Centre. Tickets can be purchased here.
 
Aug 29/30
Round off the week with an amazing free concert at Mississauga Celebration Square featuring fantastic Canadian talent on Friday, August 29.  Then enjoy great food, the free KidZone, free film festival, free Bollywood dance lessons and spectacular music and dance acts leading up to the free Bollywood headliner Rajdeep Chatterjee's performance on Saturday, August 30.
