Controversial Toronto Mayor Rob Ford has announced his plans to meet another controversial celebrity in his office on Tuesday afternoon, namely former boxer and convicted rapist Mike Tyson. It was explained that Mr. Tyson has come to town to perform his one-man show, called Mike Tyson: Undisputed Truth, at the Air Canada Centre on Wednesday night.

According to the statement issued by Mr. Ford, Tyson asked to meet him at 2 p.m. and so “I will be welcoming Mr. Tyson at about 2 o’clock. He has a big show on tomorrow. Never met him before. Very interested in what he has to say.” Mr. Tyson has been convicted of rape in 1992 and assault in 1998, after which he again plead guilty to cocaine possession and driving under the influence in 2007. Whereas, his ex-wife, Robin Givens, has also accused him of domestic violence.

Upon inquiry if Mr. Ford had any doubts about meeting with someone who has been convicted of rape, he replied that that “I’m not going to comment on his personal life.” Furthermore, he alleged that “I’ve just never met the man before, and interested in seeing what he has to say.” In the past, Mr. Ford has met several other controversial personalities as well, including the Toronto rapper Snow, banned-for-life former sprinter Ben Johnson, and Trailer Park Boys actor Sam Tarasco, who hosts a marijuana-smoking show. Whereas, all three of his primary rivals have repeatedly mocked his March trip to Hollywood to appear on Jimmy Kimmel’s late-night show.
