A proactive online investigation by the BC Integrated Child Exploitation (BC ICE) unit has resulted in the arrest of a Maple Ridge man.

The investigation began in August 2014 when a covert police investigator from the BC ICE unit, posing as a 13 year old female, was approached online by Mr. David Anderson who said he was a teenaged male. Anderson, 59 years old, indicated an interest in meeting, and went so far as to arrange a date and time.

On September 4, 2014, after a period of surveillance by the Integrated Sexual Predator Observation Team (ISPOT), members of the BC ICE unit arrested David Anderson at hishome.

Anderson is now facing two counts of Luring a Child online. He is also charged with breach of probation from a previous luring incident where the court imposed conditions that included no internet access or contact with any female child under the age of 16 years unless in the company of a responsible adult.
