Gatineau man Daniel Marois charged with three counts on sexual assault

Yesterday, the Ottawa Police Service Sexual Assault and Child Abuse Section charged a Gatineau man in relation to three historical sexual assaults of women in Ottawa. 

Daniel Marois, 44 years old, of Gatineau has been charged with three counts of Sex Assault and two counts of Uttering Death Threats.

The sexual assaults occurred as follows:

– April 22, 2001, just before midnight in the 2200 block of Carling Avenue involving a 19 year old victim;

– April 17,2009  at approximately 230 am in the 100 block of Dalhousie Street involving a 26 year old victim;  and

– August 12, 2013 sometime after midnight in the Ottawa area involving a 21 year old victim (further information on the location is not available).

Daniel Marois is scheduled to appear in court today.

He is currently described as a Caucasian man, shaved head, 6 ft tall (183cm), 181lbs (82kg). He has been described in the past as having brown hair and a receding hairline.

Investigators believe that there could be further victims.  The investigation continues.
