Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of one man and the wounding of two other persons at 13100 Cullen Boulevard about 2:10 a.m. on Sunday (Nov. 23).
The deceased victim, William J. Whitfield, 31, was pronounced dead at the scene. Two other victims, a man, 54, and a woman, 38, were transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening wounds.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeants T. Pool, C. Sturdivant and Senior Police Officers S. Straughter and D. Arnold reported:
Mr. Whitfield began arguing with an unknown male after leaving the S & S Sports Bar at the above location. Soon after, several suspects began shooting at Whitfield. He and two of his relatives were struck. The suspects fled the scene in unknown vehicles.
