Controversial comedian on a much hyped tour of Canada, Bill Cosby, was forced by protestors to cut short his last show in the country on Friday night. Protesters heckled the comedian from the audience as some yelled “arrogant piece of s***” and others stood up to shout that “we believe the women.” This is the second time Mr. Cosby’s show was cut short in just two days.
Mr. Cosby has been accused of sexual assault by almost 20 women in the past few months, although the comedian has denied all allegations and has never been charged. According to a video obtained of the time when protestors stood up, Cosby did not even attempt to carry on his show on Friday but instead stopped and told the angry crowd to let the hecklers have their say. He could be heard telling his supporters to “stop, stop, calm” while they shouted back at the protesters and said that “we believe Cosby.” Evidently, the hecklers were eventually escorted from the premises as Cosby’s fan applauded the move.
This scene was created just a day after the comedian joked about the sexual assault allegations made against him during another show. At the time, Mr. Cosby questioned a woman who got up from the audience about where she was going and she replied that she was going to get a drink from the lobby. In his reply, Cosby joked that “you have to be careful about drinking around me” as the audience applauded aloud.
