Ontario Premier, Kathleen Wynne, was present along with Liberal candidate for Sudbury, Glenn Thibeault, as both launched the ‘Team Thibeault RV’ at the opening of the skating path at Science North. Both leaders welcomed skaters on the Ramsey Lake skating path with hot chocolate and snacks.

In his remark, Thibeault prayed that the campaign vehicle will allow his team to reach out and talk to more people around the city. Premier Wynne and Thibeault revealed to have had a discussion with Mayor Brian Bigger on Friday regarding platform issues and future plans for economic development. Primer Wynne stated that “we talked about jobs, we talked about the excellent expertise in mining that is here in Sudbury. We talked about how we can export that knowledge to the world.” She alleged that “we talked about infrastructure and the building of roads and how necessary that is for Sudbury to thrive. Those are the issues that we’re focused on, getting jobs to Sudbury, and making sure that people have the resources they need to grow and be strong.”

In his remarks, Thibeault alleged that “we talked yesterday (with Bigger) about the mining cluster we have here. That mining cluster employs 17,000 people. Those 17,000 people will be able to create more jobs if we get the Ring of Fire up and running. It’s about ensuring that our community continues to thrive and prosper, and that’s something I’m very excited to be a part of, especially with the plan that the premier has for the province.”
