Oshawa man Rayan Parmar charged with Attempted Murder

A 30-year-old Oshawa man has been charged with attempted murder after inflicting knife wounds on a person known to him.

On Thursday, January 22, 2015, at approximately 11:15 p.m., officers responded to an apartment building in the Park Road North and Adelaide Avenue West area of Oshawa in regards to a victim who had suffered lacerations to the neck area from a male suspect. The suspect was arrested without incident in the lobby of the building. The victim was taken to a local hospital and treated for serious, but not life-threatening injuries.

The suspect was originally arrested for Aggravated Assault, but the charges were upgraded to Attempted Murder after investigators had completed interviews.

Rayan PARMAR, age 30, of Oshawa, is charged with: Attempted Murder; Aggravated Assault; Possession of Weapons Dangerous; Assault with a Weapon and Assault. He was held for a bail hearing.
