Investigators working out of the York Regional Police Internet Child Exploitation Unit in co-operation with members from the Ontario Provincial Police Child Sexual Exploitation Section have charged a 43-year-old Vaughan man after an incident of Internet luring.

In July 2010, officers received information that led them to investigate an incident of Internet luring. The suspect is alleged to have engaged in sexually exploitive conversation online, believing the victim to be a 12-year-old female. As a result of these online conversations, the suspect is alleged to have set up a meeting for a sexual purpose.

Through an investigation that began with the Ontario Provincial Police Child Sexual Exploitation Section, officers with York Regional Police assisted in a lengthy investigation that led them to execute a Criminal Code search warrant at a residence on Bucksaw Drive in the City of Vaughan on Tuesday, December 7, 2010. The suspect was arrested inside the residence without incident. Inside, investigators seized a quantity of items including five computer hard drives, an external hard drive, a web cam and a cell phone.

Investigators believe there may be more victims who may have been contacted through alias user names similar to Joshuad, Davidg and Gary203K.
