On Tuesday, December 21, 2010 just before 8 a.m., officers were called to Lakeridge Health Oshawa regarding a stabbing victim in the emergency department. A 24-year-old Oshawa woman had received life-threatening wounds after another woman confronted her at a residence in the Adelaide Avenue West/Gibbons Street area of Oshawa and stabbed her with a knife.
The two women are both involved with the same 29-year-old Oshawa man.
The stabbing victim was then transported to a Peterborough hospital where she underwent surgery for her wounds. She remains in stable condition and is expected to survive.
Officers, including the Tactical Support Unit, attended the residence and arrested a 26-year-old Oshawa woman without incident. She will be charged with Aggravated Assault, Assault with a Weapon and Mischief Under $5000 and was held for a bail hearing.
