Six injured as explosion rocks film set in Maple Ridge, B.C

Maple Ridge, B.C. – An explosion on a movie set has injured six people. Just after 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday December 21, 2010, Ridge Meadows RCMP, Maple Ridge Fire Department, and the B.C. Ambulance Service were called to attend to the scene, which is in Golden Ears Park. The explosion occurred as a propane heater was being filled. The heaters are part of a movie set holding area in the park. Victims received varying degree of burns, but none of the injuries are felt to be life threatening. Victims have been taken to hospital by the paramedics with B.C. Ambulance Service.
 
Work Safe B.C. has been notified, and have attended the scene. Ridge Meadows RCMP are continuing the investigation into the cause of the explosion.
