Maritime winter storm claims the life of New Brunswick woman

District 10 RCMP are investigating a fatal motor vehicle collision that occurred on Montagne de la Croix Road, in Rivière-Verte, around 4:20 a.m. on December 30, 2010.

A woman in her late 30s from the Edmundston area died, after the car she was travelling in left the road and rolled. A man in his late 20s was taken to hospital with what are believed to be non life-threatening injuries.

No other vehicles were involved. Police say the road was icy at the time of the crash, although the exact cause is still under investigation. A collision reconstruction team attended the scene.

The woman’s name is not being released at this time pending notification of her family.
