Eight arrested after cocaine drug gang busted in Edmonton

On Friday, Dec. 24, 2010 members of the Edmonton Drug and Gang Enforcement (EDGE) Unit completed an in-depth three month investigation with the arrest of eight men alleged to be involved in high level drug trafficking.

Along with the arrests, EDGE members executed search warrants resulting in over three kilograms of cocaine being seized, as well as a loaded handgun.

Insp. Greg Preston, in charge of the Organized Crime Branch says, “This investigation was directed at some of the highest level drug trafficking in the City, focusing on individuals alleged to be managing and directing the operation. These arrests will have an immediate impact on cocaine distribution in the City of Edmonton.”

The street value of the cocaine seized is approximately $300,000. On an annual basis this would represent a multi-million dollar illegal operation.

Tony TRAN, 27, Peter TRAN, 26, Kim Leaung YOEUN, 25, Phu PHAN, 25, Phoeung NHEM, 26, Sohka TIM, 26, and Vannhan ROS, 26, have been jointly charged with committing an offence for a criminal organization, possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, production of a controlled substance, conspiracy to traffic a controlled substance, possession of a loaded restricted firearm and possession of property obtained by crime exceeding $5000.

Graham Ross BRENNAN, 26, is charged with possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, production of a controlled substance, conspiracy to traffic a controlled substance, possession of a loaded restricted firearm and possession of property obtained by crime exceeding $5000.
