The York Regional Police Hold-Up Unit is seeking public assistance in identifying and apprehending a suspect in connection with a bank robbery in the Town of Markham.

On Thursday, January 6, 2011, at approximately 9:30 a.m., a male suspect entered the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce located at 4360 Highway 7, East. The suspect approached a teller and handed her a note stating he had a gun. The teller gave the suspect cash and he fled on foot southbound Eureka Street. A gun was never seen.

The suspect is described as:

 Male, white
 5’9”
 Early 50s
 Wearing a dark blue toque, sunglasses, a black coat and black pants
