Since the summer of 2008, the London Police Service Fraud Section have received complaints in regards to the professional business practices of Alec John Dobson, a resident of London, with a legal practice that was located near the Village of Dorchester.

Alec John Dobson was suspended on an interim interlocutory basis on July 14, 2008 by the Law Society of Upper Canada.

Following a hearing, Alec John Dobson was disbarred on November 24, 2009 by the Law Society of Upper Canada.

As a result of a police investigation, on January 14, 2011 the London Police Service Fraud Section arrested Alec John Dobson, 56 years old. He has been charged with 30 criminal offences;

-11 counts of Breach of Trust
– 11 counts of Theft of Entrusted monies over $5000
– 8 counts of uttering falsified documents

The total money missing is in excess of $1 million Canadian Dollars

His next court appearance will be on January 14, 2011
