Police responded to shots fired upon two residences in Oshawa last night and arrested an Oshawa man and seized a pellet gun.

On Wednesday January 26, 2011, at approximately 9:30 p.m. officers from Central East Division responded to an armed person incident involving shots fired upon two residential properties on Highland Avenue in Oshawa. Two homes had been fired upon and their front windows damaged and shattered. Police determined none of the residents of either home had sustained any injuries. It was reported to police the suspect was observed fleeing into a nearby residence.

Officers attempted contact with the suspect who would not answer his door and/or phone for several hours. Officers from the Tactical Support Unit (TSU) were called to the scene, where entry was made into the suspect’s residence and he was subsequently arrested, without incident. Police seized a pellet gun from the residence.

David RICHARDSON, age 32 of Highland Avenue in Oshawa is charged with: Mischief Under $5,000 x2; Possession of Weapon Dangerous to the Public Peace; Careless Use of Firearm and Common Nuisance. The accused was held for a bail hearing.
