Gavin Storer charged for the 2007 murder of Shaheen Sherzady, Hamilton

Hamilton Police have a man wanted for a 2007 homicide in custody.

On July 1st, 2007, Hamilton Police responded to 9-1-1 calls reporting a disturbance at 130 St. Joseph’s Dr. in Hamilton. Upon arrival at the building police located 23 yr. old Shaheen SHERZADY who was deceased.

One suspect, Omar Williams, was arrested at the scene. The Hamilton Police Service Homicide Unit investigated and a second suspect, Gavin STORER was identified. On July 5th, 2007, an arrest warrant was issued for now 31 yr. old Gavin STORER.

Homicide investigators have received information from police agencies both, nationally and internationally relating to the whereabouts of Gavin STORER. Recent information resulted in the Hamilton Police Service Gangs and Weapons Enforcement Unit working with the London Police Service Guns and Gangs Section.

On Wednesday March 2nd, 2011 at approximately 11:00 p.m., London Police Service uniform patrol learned of the location of STORER and conducted a high risk takedown of a taxi Gavin STORER was a passenger in. He was arrested without incident and he is now in custody of Hamilton Police. Gavin STORER is expected to appear in court this afternoon on charges of First Degree Murder.
