The Oshawa Power have acquired guard-forward Rick Bodiford and released Andrew Francis.
Bodiford is a 6’5″ 200 lb wing and hails from Louisville, Kentucky. Playing in 17 games for the Quebec Kebs, he comes in averaging 5.6 points per game with a season high of 23 points against the Power on December 30, 2011. Bodiford played collegiate ball at Indiana University Southeast of the NAIA and worked out with the Indiana Pacers of the NBA in the summer of 2011.
The Power organization is very pleased to bring Bodiford and on board. He possesses strong ball handling, shooting, strength and athleticism, just in time for the Durham Region team’s playoff push.
“We definitely wish Andrew Francis all the best,” said Gary Durrant, President of Basketball Operations. “Bodiford will add toughness on the wing. He’s a hard-nosed player who really wanted the opportunity to play for the Oshawa Power.”
The next Power home game is January 26, 2012 at 7:30 p.m. against the Saint John Mill Rats.
