The Toronto Maple Leafs announced Tuesday that the hockey club has signed forward Mike Zigomanis to a one-year contract.

Zigomanis, 30, collected one assist and four penalty minutes in eight games with the Maple Leafs in 2010-11. The Toronto, Ontario native also appeared in 64 games with the Toronto Marlies of the American Hockey League last season, leading the team in assists (33) and points (47), while adding 14 goals and 66 penalty minutes.

In 197 career NHL games with Carolina, St. Louis, Phoenix, Pittsburgh and Toronto, the 6-0, 200-pound centreman has tallied 21 goals and 19 assists for 40 points and 89 penalty minutes. Zigomanis was originally signed by the Maple Leafs as a free agent on July 3, 2010.
