Toronto Maple LeafsThe Toronto Maple Leafs announced Sunday that goaltender Ben Scrivens has been assigned to the Toronto Marlies of the American Hockey League (AHL). Scrivens appeared in two preseason games for the Maple Leafs in 2011 and posted two wins. He allowed one goal in 63 minutes for a 0.95 goals against average. 

The Marlies will play their first of two preseason games when they face Syracuse tonight at the Trisan Centre in Schomberg, Ontario. Game time is 7 pm. The Maple Leafs will practice on Monday at 11 am at the MasterCard Centre for Hockey Excellence as they prepare for their season opener on Thursday at home against Montreal.
