A proud member of the American Hockey League, the Toronto Marlies released their 2011-12 opening day roster today. The Marlies, who will begin their seventh season tonight, open with 23 skaters and three goaltenders.
The Marlies 2011-12 roster consists of goaltenders Mark Owuya, Jussi Rynnas and Ben Scrivens; defencemen Keith Aulie, Jesse Blacker, Josh Engel, Jeff Finger, Simon Gysbers, Korbinian Holzer, Matt Lashoff and Juraj Mikus; and forwards Will Acton, Darryl Boyce, Tyler Brenner, Luca Caputi, Joe Colborne, Joey Crabb, Jerry D’Amigo, Jamie Devane, Ryan Hamilton, Brayden Irwin, Marcel Mueller, Kenny Ryan, Greg Scott, Kelsey Wilson and Mike Zigomanis.
In addition, the Marlies have announced that Ryan Hamilton will be the club’s fourth team captain for the 2011-12 season. The newly named captain has played in 128 career games with the Marlies over the past three seasons, collecting 66 points (39 goals, 27 assists) and 91 penalty minutes.
