Brian Burke, President and General Manager of the Toronto Maple Leafs, announced Thursday that the hockey club has assigned forward Joe Colborne to the Toronto Marlies.
Colborne, 21, has played nine games for the Leafs this season collecting one goal and three assists along with two penalty minutes. The Edmonton, Alberta native scored his first NHL goal November 22 at Tampa Bay. In 13 games with the Marlies, he registered 19 points (10 goals, 9 assists) and was the AHL’s Player of the Month for October.
The Toronto Marlies will return to action on Friday night when they visit the Hamilton Bulldogs. The Marlies next home game will take place on Saturday as they host the Albany Devils at Ricoh Coliseum. Game time is 3 p.m.
