The Toronto Marlies defeated the Hamilton Bulldogs, AHL affiliate of the Montreal Canadiens, by a score of 6-0 tonight at Ricoh Coliseum.
Jerry D’Amigo opened the scoring with the Marlies shorthanded at 10:10 of the first period. Toronto would extend their lead on a powerplay just over four minutes later when Keith Aucoin recorded his 8th goal of the season. Greg McKegg made it 3-0 for Toronto early in the middle frame. Back-to-back powerplay goals by Joe Colborne and Ryan Hamilton gave Toronto a commanding 5-0 lead at the end of the second period. Keith Aucoin’s second goal of the game was the lone tally of the final frame.
Toronto will return to the ice on Saturday afternoon at Ricoh Coliseum when they take on the Rockford IceHogs, AHL affiliate of the Chicago Blackhawks. Puck drop is set for 3 p.m.
