Winnipeg JetsThe Winnipeg Jets are pleased to announce they have agreed to terms with forward Jason Jaffray on a new contract. As per club policy, terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

Jaffray, 31, has played in 27 games with the St. John’s IceCaps of the American Hockey League so far this season. In that time, the left-winger has recorded 20 points (6G, 14A) and 21 penalty minutes. He has played in a career total 398 AHL games between Norfolk, Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, Manitoba, Abbotsford and St. John’s for 315 career points (131G, 184A) and 336 career penalty minutes.

The Olds, AB native has a lengthy history with the Moose as he sits second on the former AHL team’s all-time scoring list with 235 points (96g, 139a) in 269 games played. He was named the team’s Most Valuable Player and Most Popular Player in the 2006-07 season when he led the Moose in scoring and goals with 81 points and 35 goals. He was named the winner of the team’s Unsung Hero Award in 2005-06.

Jaffray has appeared in 49 career NHL games between Vancouver, Calgary and Winnipeg. In that span he’s scored 11 points (4g, 7a) and 40 penalty minutes. His most successful season in the NHL was 2007-08 when he played in 19 games with the Canucks and collected six points (2g, 4a).
