The Toronto Marlies were defeated by the Texas Stars, AHL affiliate of the Dallas Stars, by a score of 3-2 this afternoon at Ricoh Coliseum.

Captain Ryan Hamilton notched his 20th goal of the season to open the scoring just over one minute into the game. Texas would equalize later in the period when Alex Chiasson tallied his 12th goal of the year. The Stars would take their first lead of the game when forward Justin Dowling scored at 17:42 of the middle frame. Mike Hedden’s goal at 1:08 of the third period gave Texas a 3-1 lead. Greg McKegg would cut the lead in half on his 6th goal of the season at 9:02 of the final frame. Despite late pressure, the Marlies were unable to tie the game.
