The Winnipeg Jets today announced they have re-assigned forward John Albert to the St. John’s IceCaps of the American Hockey League.
Albert, 24, appeared in his first NHL game and scored his first goal on Dec. 2 versus the New York Rangers. The left-handed centre played in eight games for the Jets since being recalled on Dec. 1/13 earning one goal in that span. Albert returns to St. John’s where he has recorded eight points (3G, 5A) and four penalty minutes in 23 games this season. He has played in 111 career AHL games, all with St. John’s, for 40 career points (15G, 25A) and 42 career penalty minutes.
He was originally drafted by the Atlanta Thrashers in the sixth round, 175th overall, in the 2007 NHL Draft.
