Buffalo SabresChad Ruhwedel assigned to Rochester

The Buffalo Sabres today announced the team today recalled defenseman Mark Pysyk and forward Johan Larsson from the Rochester Americans of the American Hockey League (AHL). The team also announced it has assigned defenseman Chad Ruhwedel to Rochester.

Pysyk (1/11/92, 6’1″, 192 lbs) re-joins the Sabres after being assigned to Rochester on Dec. 17. He played in three games for the Amerks during his time in Rochester, contributing one assist. Through parts of two NHL seasons, Pysyk has played in 50 games for the Sabres, recording nine points (1+9). The Sabres drafted the Sherwood Park, Alberta native in the first round (23rd overall) of the 2010 NHL Entry Draft.

Larsson (7/25/92, 5’11”, 206 lbs) returns to the Sabres after being assigned to Rochester on Nov. 20. He played in 13 games for the Amerks during his time in Rochester, notching nine points (2+7). Through parts of two NHL seasons, Larsson has played in 18 games for the Sabres and the Minnesota Wild, tallying one assist. The Sabres acquired Larsson as part of a trade with the Wild in April 2013.
