The Ottawa Senators (@Senators) today recalled forward Mark Stone on an emergency basis from the club’s American Hockey League affiliate, the Binghamton Senators.
Stone, 21, has recorded nine goals and nine assists for 18 points in 19 AHL games with the B-Sens this season. He missed 10 games after being injured during the team’s season-opener on Oct. 5 against Syracuse.
The 6-2, 203-pound forward played in four regular-season games with the Senators last season, while being held scoreless. He also appeared in two NHL post-season contests (one in 2011-12 and one in 2012-13) and registered an assist in his professional debut on April 21, 2012, in a 2-0 Ottawa Game 5 victory over the New York Rangers.
The Senators’ sixth-round pick (178th overall) in the 2010 NHL Draft, Stone led Canada in goals (seven) and points (10) at the 2012 IIHF World Junior Hockey Championship in Alberta.
