Brian Burke, President and General Manager of the Toronto Maple Leafs, announced WednesdaySave that the hockey club has assigned goaltender James Reimer to the Toronto Marlies of the American Hockey League.
Reimer has played in 10 games for the Marlies this season posting a record of 6-3-1, a goals against average of 2.59 and a save percentage of .926. He was most recently recalled from the Marlies on Monday and backed up Jonas Gustavsson in the Leafs’ 5-4 shootout win at Washington. The 6-2, 208-pound goaltender was originally the Leafs’ third choice, selected 99th overall, in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft.

The Toronto Marlies will begin a stretch of four games on the road beginning tonight when they visit the Wilkes-Barre / Scranton Penguins. The Marlies’ next home game will take place on Saturday, December 18 at 3 p.m. when they host Rochester Americans at Ricoh Coliseum.
