Monday proved to be a wet rainy day for Wimbledon 2012 at All England Club.

No. 1 Novak Djokovic defeated Viktor Troicki 6-3, 6-1, 6-3 – moving ahead to defend his 2011 Wimbledon title. Djokovic has lost just one set in four matches at this year's tournament.

Meanwhile, No. 3 Roger Federer fought through a back injury to beat Xavier Malisse 7-6 (1), 6-1, 4-6, 6-3 and become the first from the men's draw to make it to quarter-finals. He will play against Mikhail Youzhny in the quarterfinals, and if everything remains stable, he will probably meet Djokovic in the semis.

The rest of the men's bracket remains undecided, as five matches were delayed due to rain.

American Mardy Fish is currently leading No. 5 Jo-Wilfried Tsonga 6-4, 1-1, while No. 4 Andy Murray is beating Marin Cilic 7-5, 3-1. Florian Mayer is also ahead in his match, as he is currently up 6-3, 2-1 on Richard Gasquet.

Two matches – Brian Baker vs. Philipp Kohlschreiber and No. 7 David Ferrer vs. No. 9 Juan Martin del Potro – did not even start. They will play their matches on Tuesday.

On Women’s side, Maria Sharapova – the 2012 French Open winner – was absolutely stomped by Sabine Lisicki with 6-4, 6-3 – avenging her loss to the world's No. 1 player in last year's semifinals. She will clash with fellow No.8 Angelique Kerber who thrashed Kim Clijsters’ last hope of winning a Wimbledon with 6-1,6-1.

At the top of the women's bracket, No. 4 Petra Kvitova lost her first set to Francesca Schiavone before rebounding to win 4-6, 7-5, 6-1. Meanwhile, Williams – a four-time Wimbledon champ – was pushed to the limit by Yaroslava Shvedova, but eventually won the grueling three-set match 6-1, 2-6, 7-5. Williams and Kvitova will face each other in the quarterfinals.

Unseeded Austrian Tamira Paszek beat Italy's No.23 Roberto Vinci, with 6-2, 6-2 to book her place in the quarter-finals for the second successive year. Paszek will face Azarenka, a beaten semi-finalist last year, after the reigning Australian Open champion crushed No.14 Ana Ivanovic 6-1, 6-0.

No.3 Agnieszka Radwanska cruised to a 6-2, 6-3 win over qualifier Camila Giorgi and faces No.17 Kirilenko, who defeated China's Peng Shuai 6-1, 6-7 (8/6).
