Day 4 seems to wrap up the 2nd test match as West Indian team only require 71 runs to win this match and the whole series with six wickets remaining.
On the opening day of the 2nd test match, West Indies batsman Marlon Samuels struck a brilliant 123 but New Zealand's seamers set up a healthy first innings lead on a gripping second day of the second Test at Sabina Park. West Indies, 11 for 0 overnight in reply to New Zealand's first innings total of 260, were bowled out for 209 midway through the final session.
The visitors then stretched their overall advantage to 110 by the close, reaching 59 for 2 in the second innings by the close of Day 2 on Friday.
With the end of the Day 3, the balance seems to get shifted in favour of West Indies as they are having bright chances to win the match. Their spinners, led by Narsingh Deonarine set it up by bowling New Zealand out for 154, setting a target of 206. For the second time in the match, Marlon Samuels held the key for West Indies as his half-century gave the hosts the edge after a shaky start. Samuels' wicket late in the day gave New Zealand an opening, but Shivnarine Chanderpaul's presence gave West Indies a sense of security.
Kemar Roach and Chanderpaul are on the crease and will continue the play at Day 4. The balance can be shifted if New Zealand's seamers can reproduce their form and consistency from the first innings to pull off an unlikely win. However, what could hinder either team's victory bid is the tropical storm Ernesto, which is expected to hit Jamaica on Sunday.
