On Tuesday August 14 2012, Russian team will be playing their 4th and final friendly challenge game against Canada at Halifax Metro Centre.
The first two games were played in Yaroslavl, Russia, on Thursday and Friday. Canada won the opener 3-2 however, the second one clutch by Russia.
Canada more or less went at the forefront in the third match Monday when Cody Ceci rang a shot off the post with 14 minutes left but that was not the lucky day for home team. Now Russia is leading the challenge with 2-1. In the last match, Russia take hold of an early lead with two goals in the first six minutes.
Russia goes up 2-0 when Daniil Romantsev made a stunning backhand pass to Vladimir Tkachev, who battled it to the net. Canada fought off with the help of Monahan and Charles Hudon to strap it 4-4 going into the final period.
Anton Slephyshev and Jonathan Huberdeau exchanged third-period goals before Sigarev preserved the game for Russia. Fourth and final will be played today to decide about the series.
