On Monday September 10th, 2012 stage 2 will be started in Tour of Britain, as Luke Rowe (Sky) won the opening stage of the Tour of Britain, taking the race in Norfolk to the lead of Boy van Poppel (UnitedHealthcare) and Russell Downing (Endura). This win is helping him to cruise his way into not only at the top of table but also taking over the distinct lead. The work of the Sky train, proved futile for Cavendish as he went down in the Norfolk showground within two kilometres of the finish.
Stage 2 has a medium mountain category over a distance of 180.7km; it starts from Nottingham to Knowsley Safari Park. With plenty of small ascends right from the start and three first category cat KOM’s all contained by the first 60km, this stage looks like a jungle. After the final KOM the roads even out but fleeting in the course of small villages will signify the riders have to stay attentive for a break creeping away. This stage will suit experienced players and their attack could break the bunch before the end.
