The 6th match of ICC Twenty20 world cup 2012 is between the England and Afghanistan. The cricket fans would have undoubtedly enjoyed Afghanistan’s performance against MS Dhoni and his side. They were still in confused until the start of the last over. India may have been pre-tournament favourites but they were never comfortable in that match, even if a 23-run winning margin suggests otherwise.

English supporters are concerned about their team’s performance too as Stuart Broad’s side don’t own appreciable records against the lower ranked nations in limited overs cricket. It means that Mohammad Shahzad’s men do have the opportunity to provide fans with the shock of the tournament.

The presence of Afghanistan in the island nation means they are one of the 12 best T20 teams in the world. Against India, while chasing 160, Afghan batsmen showed patches of brilliance in their stroke-making but sheer inexperience saw them get all out for 136 in 19.3 overs. The likely Afghanistan squad to play, include: Nawroz Mangal (captain), Dawlat Zadran, Gulbadin Naib, Hamid Hassan, Izzatullah Dawlatzai, Karim Sadeq, Mohammad Javed Ahmadi, Mohammad Nasim Baras, Mohammad Nabi, Mohammad Shehzad, Mohammad Asghar Stanikzai, Najibullah Zadran, Samiullah Shinwari, Shafiqullah Shafaq, Shapur Zadran.

On the other hand, England is looking to make the T20 history to have successfully defended the crown. They will be feeling big after wins against Australia and Pakistan, in their two warm-up games. England would like to keep the winning momentum going against Afghanistan, two days before the big-ticket encounter with India at the same venue on Sunday. The probable English line-up include: Stuart Broad (captain), Jonathan Bairstow, Ravi Bopara, Tim Bresnan, Danny Briggs, Jos Buttler, Jade Dernbach, Steven Finn, Alex Hales, Craig Kieswetter (wicketkeeper), Michael Lumb, Eoin Morgan, Samit Patel, Graeme Swann, Luke Wright.
