Delhi Daredevils will look to stake claim on the Champions League T20 semi-final spot when they take on the Nashua Titans in the final group A match at the Centurion on Tuesday.
Nothing seems to be certain in Group A till the last group match. If the Titans win this match, they will surely qualify for the Semis. In case they lose the match, they also hope that Aces will not win their match which is to be held earlier in the day. Titans will rely heavily on Henry Davids and Jacques Rudolph to get the side off to a good start in their batting lineup in addition to Farhaan Behardien if they have to outsmart the Daredevils pacers Umesh Yadav, Irfan Pathan and Morkel.
Wthin the bowling departnent, Ethy Mbhalati and Alfonso Thomas suffered of leaking runs between them in eight overs to finish with just one wicket. A good outing against the mighty Delhi line-up will give Titans the much needed confidence boost ahead of the knock-outs. The probable Titans’ squad will include: Jacques Rudolph, Henry Davids, Martin van Jaarsveld (c), Farhaan Behardien, David Wiese, Roelof van der Merwe, Heino Kuhn (wk), Cornelius de Villiers, Alfonso Thomas, Eden Links, Ethy Mbhalati.
The Daredevils sealed a narrow win against the Perth Scorchers on Sunday to alive in the tournament while the Titans’ shock defeat to the Kolkata Knight Riders leaves them at second place on the standings with eight points. Virender Sehwag’s 52-run knock saved Kolkata the blushes before Ajit Agarkar took the team across to smash the winning runs. And with Agarkar (2-14) impressing with the ball too, the Titans will be wary of the Delhi bowling attack after Morne Morkel finished with three for 19 against Perth. The likely DD lineup will include: Mahela Jayawardene (c), Virender Sehwag, Kevin Pietersen, Unmukt Chand, Ross Taylor, Pawan Negi (wk), Naman Ojha, Irfan Pathan, Ajit Agarkar, Morne Morkel, Umesh Yadav.
