On the 2nd day, Denmark’s Hans Kristian Vittinghus advanced into Men’s Singles third round after delivering expected performance in second round encounter when he exiled Malaysia’s Soon Huat Goh at the Bitburger Open GP Gold 2012 on Wednesday, October 31, in Germany. The top seeded and World No.17 Vittinghus, had overpowered his un-seeded Malaysian challenger with 22-20 and 21-17 consuming 39 minutes on court.

Netherlands’ higher ranked Eric Pang showed a wonderful performance on court as he outplayed his lower ranked challenger Jarolim Vicen of Slovakia in Men’s Singles second round with a reasonable 22-20 and 21-13 score on the board in just 31 minutes.

Malaysia’s talented campaigner and World No.46 Mohamad Arif Abdul Latif played with great conviction and ensured his presence in the pre quarter-finals  as he stamped Vitaly Konov of Ukraine by registering final figures of 18-21, 21-19 and 21-15 in a hard fought 45-minute tussle.

Men’s Singles shuttler Lukas Schmidt continued his successful run and unseated Iskandar Zulkarnain Zainuddin en route to pre quarter-finals as he ended this nerve racking 46 minutes tussle with a favourable result of 16-21, 21-11 and 21-16. Lukas Schmidt’s next challenge will be to surpass the sixth seeded Mohamad Arif Abdul Latif to advance to the quarter-finals round.

Netherland’s Yao Jie played has remarkably outshined Sabrina Jaquet to step into pre quarter-finals in just 24 minutes before ending with 21-12 and 21-11.

Bulgaria’s Petya Nedelcheva has easily secured her berth in Women’s Singles second round after beating Ukraine’s Larisa Griga in first round with a staggering 21-17 and 21-8 after 32 minutes battle.

Men’s Doubles experts Rasmus Bonde and Mads Conrad Petersen of Denmark made their way impressively into pre quarter-finals by overpowering Joel Johansson Berg-Nico Ruponen with a favourable margin of 21-8 and 21-16 in a 28-minute tussle.
