In the field hockey, on Sunday December 2nd 2012, New Zealand is taking on India in a Champion Trophy Hockey tournament at State Netball Hockey Centre, Melbourne, Australia.
India has played their opening match of Champion Trophy against England, England began brilliantly against the Indians, scoring the opening goal of the match in the 15th minuets of first half by Richard Smith, while Indian scored an equalizer in second half by Yuvraj Walmiki. The goal gave the Indians a modest leap towards the win, however, Sardar Singh preserved the win with four minutes left in the finish when his penalty corner turned its way into the net for the decisive 3-1 goal and England couldn’t present any significant results in those last minutes except seeing Indians towards the victory.
On the other hand, the New Zealand has a close encounter with Germany while at the end Germany got victorious by 3-2. Germany was leading in the first half by 3-0 but in second half they got relaxed and New Zealand came back strongly with the back-to-back 2 goals in the later stage of the game but first half difference short them by 1 goal. This would be must win match for New Zealand but India strong win against England make them favorites to win this game too.
