Bangladesh will play its 5th and final ODI against West at the Sheikh Abu Naser Stadium in Khulna on Saturday.
The series is leveled at 2-2 after West Indies won the 3rd and 4th ODIs consecutively in a do-or-die situation after the hosts won the opening two games to surprise the world. This final ODI will also be served as series decider. The 4th ODI was a low scoring game inspite of the flat track. The same track will be used for the final game as well.
West Indies opener Chris Gayle is yet to fire in the ODI series and this match is the perfect platform for him to amuse the fans with some big scoring. West Indian team has made a great come back in the last two ODIs. If Marlon Samuels’ century helped West Indies’ victory in the third ODI, Captain Darren Sammy came good in the 4th with a solid all-round performance to knock off the hosts in a low-scorer. The likely West Indian lineup will include: Chris Gayle, Kieran Powell, Marlon Samuels, Darren Bravo, Dwayne Smith, Kieron Pollard, Devon Thomas, Darren Sammy, Veerasammy Permaul, Sunil Narine, Kemar Roach.
Bangladesh young recruits have done reasonably well but their lack of experience was very much evident in the last two ODIs. The hosts are definitely missing talismanic performance of middle-order batsman Shakib-al-Hasan who was ruled out of the ODI series due to injury. Now, the hosts need to play out of their skins to win the series. The probable Bangladesh squad will include: Tamim Iqbal, Anamul Haque, Naeem Islam, Nasir Hossain, Mushfiqur Rahim (Capt/wk), Mominul Haque, Mahmudullah, Sohag Gazi, Mashrafe Mortaza, Elias Sunny, Abdur Razzak.
