The 2012 Irish Open has been started on Thursday 6th December 2012, at Baldoyle Badminton Centre, Dublin 13 from 6 to 9th December 2012.
The 4-day of action packed “The Irish Open” is piece of the European Circuit where contestents can earn essential European Circuit Ranking Points early in the season.
The Irish Open has an affluent history in World badminton, with Ireland being one of the naissance members of the World Badminton Federation. The event has been run nonstop since year 1902, making it one of the ancient and prestigious Badminton events in the world.
In 2011 Women’s singles was succeed by Hsiao Ma Pai while Men’s singles was won by Rajiv Ouseph.
In 2011 Women’s doubles was won by Hui Ern NG along with Hui Lin NG while Men’s doubles was won by Adam Cwalina – Michel Logosz. However, Mixed doubles was won by Heather Olver – Marcus Ellis.
On day 2, Scott Evans and Chloe Magee both at ease won their opening round matches at the Carlton Irish Badminton Open in Baldoyle at the start of the day.
In another match, Evans, the top seed in the men’s draw, beat Maxime Michel 21-14, 21-11 in his first round match. Magee was equally tranquil in her first round matchby beating Jelske Snoeck of Belgium by 21-13, 21-8.
Line Kjaersfeldt of Denmark demonstrated a good thrilling performance and blizzards into Women’s Singles semi-final after defeating Perrine Le Buhanic of France in quarter-final battle.
In men’s singles two seeded players were out of tournament, 5th seeded player David Obernosterer closely lost to Rhys Walker of England 21-23, 19-21, while the 4th seeded Luka Wraber lost to Patrick Kaeminitz of Germany.
